1. Treating the Training and Assessment Strategy as a “template”, not a strategy

  • What it looks like: A generic TAS (often purchased) that doesn’t match your cohort, resources, or delivery mode; trainers deliver something different.
  • Why it breaches requirements: according to Clauses 1.1 and 1.4, training/assessment strategies and practices have to align with training package requirements. In addition, ASQA says providers must contextualise the resources and quality assure, no matter where they come from.

5. Assuming online delivery “automatically works” for practical requirements

Why it breaches requirements: ASQA warns that online delivery must still align with training package requirements; some practical requirements may not transfer online, and students must know if assessment must be face-to-face to meet unit requirements.  ASQA also notes that practical training/assessment decisions must consider training package requirements, cohort needs, and access to resources/facilities.
